Sarge
At the center of Stray Pirate is a dog named Sarge. A real dog with a bigger-than-life personality. Sarge is more than a mascot; he’s the inspiration behind it all. Stray Pirate is a celebration of the timeless connection between man and dog. It’s a relationship rooted in loyalty, love, and unspoken understanding—something that’s been cherished for centuries and still resonates today.
Stray Pirate was built around the love of two things: tiki and dogs. From the start, this tiki bar had to reflect the joy, loyalty, and playful spirit that Sarge brings into every room he walks into. It was about creating a world that reflects the spirit of adventure, companionship, and a touch of mischief.
Sarge is the captain of this ship, and his portrait, proudly displayed among the weathered planks and nautical relics, anchors the world we’ve built. Alongside him is his loyal crew—a cast of real dogs that are close to us through friends and family, each immortalized in our one-of-a-kind pirate portraits. These aren’t just decorations—they’re characters in the ongoing tale of the Stray Pirate, a ship run by dogs with hearts as big as the ocean.
Stray Pirate is for those who wander off the map, who follow their own compass, and who know that life’s greatest treasures often have four legs and a wagging tail.
Chris Gutierrez
Chris “Tater” Gutierrez has been a driving force in the Downtown Las Vegas bar scene for over 20 years. As a bartender by trade and now bar manager and partner at Stray Pirate, he has played a pivotal role in shaping local cocktail culture. Throughout his career, Chris has contributed to the opening of numerous award-winning cocktail programs, bringing creativity, expertise, and a deep passion for hospitality to every venture. Known for his dedication to the craft and ability to cultivate standout bar experiences, he continues to push the boundaries of mixology and service.
